Heather Shand
Heather is the Skagit County Superior Court Commissioner. She was appointed to the bench in 2019 following an 18-year career practicing law. Heather ran her own successful law firm for 16 years in Skagit County. Heather presides over the family and juvenile calendars in Skagit County Superior Court and is focused on the improvement of youth and families within our community.
Heather serves the community as an active member of Skagit Rotary where she is the Past Scholarship chair and currently on the International Committee, the Vice President of the Conway Youth Soccer Association, and is a prior Board member of the Children’s Museum of Skagit County, Skagit Symphony and Vala Youngquist Guild benefitting Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Heather has dedicated much of her personal life and professional career to serving families in Skagit County during some of the most stressful times of their lives. Children, and their successful development, are her passion. She is passionate about uplifting those around her to provide them with a positive environment that fosters positive choices by serving as a mentor to young women and children. She is excited to join the Board for the Skagit Women’s Alliance Network where she can connect with women and share her passion of supporting each other.
Heather was raised in Skagit County and is a graduate of Conway Elementary School and Mount Vernon High School. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, dogs, enjoying the outdoors and cheering on the University of Washington Huskies.
